This collection includes an 1882 Democratic ticket; a May 11, 1886 postcard send to Dr. Andrew H. Phillips from William H. Stallsworth who lived near Lexington, Indiana; an undated advertisement for "Valley City Phosphate" fertilizer by the Madison Fertilizer and Glue Works; and an undated advertisement for Samuel E. Brewer, Printer, Book Binder, and Stationer of Madison. All items along with a small sheet of paper have miscellaneous calculations written on them.

Biographical note
Andrew H. Phillips was born June 26. 1842 in Jefferson County, Indiana to William C. and Nancy (Hearn) Phillips. He served as a private with Company B, 137th Indiana Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. Phillips worked on the family farm before becoming a physician. In 1878, he was awarded the contract as Saluda Township physician. He married Elvira G. McKeand in December 1876 and they had one son, William R (1878-1956), who also became a doctor. Following Elvira's death, Phillips married Louise E. Giltner in 1887 and they had one son, Andrew J., who died in infancy. Dr. Phillips died at the age of 46 on September 8, 1888.
