Biographical Note
Quintin Wentworth Lomax was born May 18, 1867 in Missouri to Abel and Tamar White Lomax. Prior to the Civil War, Quintin's parents lived in Orange County, Indiana, but his father was sympathetic to the Confederacy, so the family left Indiana to avoid Abel being drafted into the Union Army. They later returned to Indiana when Quintin was still a child. Quintin married Estella E. Dillinger (1869-1946) on March 23, 1890 and they had seven children. He was a school teacher for several years in Orange County before he moved to Cherryvale, Kansas in 1905. There he worked for the United States Postal Service for thirteen years. He passed away on February 6, 1949.
