Biographical Note/Historical Note/Administrative History

William G.W. Price served as a captain in the 139th Regiment, 20th Brigade, Third Division of the Virginia Militia. He took the oaths of office for his appointment on May 24, 1853.

When the 1850 census was taken of Barbour County, West Virginia, Price was a 21-year-old farmer with a wife, Elizabeth, and one child, Israel, aged 11 months.
