Scope and Contents

This collection includes Sunday School cards, picture advertisement cards, Victorian calling cards and calling cards from 1893 World's Columbian Exposition (circa 1855 to 1900). The cards were originally glued in a scrapbook and the collection includes the front cover of the book with a note written by Miss Denny: "The Sunday School Cards in this book were saved by me, beginning with the first one I ever received, when about 6 years, 1855." Most of the picture advertisement cards are glued back to back and only the picture is visible, but three cards have observable advertisements for Taft's Dental Parlors, Charles E.
