This collection includes several cartoons drawn by Clyde W. Lamb. Three cartoons feature soldiers and one mentions "Kokomo Slim" and Indiana, so it is assumed they were drawn while incarcerated at Indiana's state prison in the 1940s. The collection also has a copy of a four-panel comic strip with Lamb's typical male character drawn with a bulbous nose.

Biographical Note
Nationally-known cartoonist Clyde William Lamb was born March 11, 1913 in Dawson County, Montana to Earl and Olive (Clement) Lamb. He spent his youth in Glendive, Montana, but later served time in three state penitentaries and several city and county jails from 1932 to 1947. A self-taught artist, Lamb began selling cartoons to national magazines while an inmate at Indiana's state prison at Michigan City. After his release in 1947, he created his comic strip, Herman, and it was syndicated in newspapers across the country starting in November 1949. Lamb died at the age of 53 on July 8, 1966 in Dublin, Ireland.
