This collection includes a speech given by Paul Garrett, General Motors vice president, to the Hoosier State Press Association at the Hotel Lincoln in Indianapolis, Indiana, on March 10, 1944, regarding the focus on war production until the end of World War II, especially Indiana's capacity to help, as well as journalism's role in the war.

Biographical Note
Paul Garrett was the vice president of General Motors Corporation during 1944 Garrett had received his M.A. from Columbia University in 1914 and worked with governmental agencies surrounding war effort and production, news agencies as a financial columnist, and large companies like General Motors Corporation and TelePrompter Corporation as a high-level administrator. He married Lillian Riggs on June 19, 1939.
