Biographical Note

Antoinette Wright and her family were early residents of Madison, Indiana. In a May 30, 1823 letter she wrote to her friend Caroline Pratt of Sherburne, Chenango County, New York, she notes that it had been almost three years since she left New York. Her letter mentions that her brother commenced reading law soon after arriving in Indiana and was admitted "in the Supreme Court" the week prior to her letter. She also mentions her mother and father and a sister named Julia.
