Biographical Note

Jacob S. McCullough (circa 1836-1897) was a teacher in Rush County, Indiana during the 1850s and enlisted in the Union army during the U.S. Civil War. McCullough was a private in the 37th Indiana Infantry, serving in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia from 1861 to 1864. He became a bookkeeper in Indianapolis after the war.
