This collection contains photocopies of programs from several events held in Indianapolis, Indiana, including the First Annual Ball of Rollers, Roughers, Catchers and Hookers Union No. 9 at the Mozart Hall September 16, 1873, the Grand Social Ball given by the Working Women's Protective Association at the Washington Hall on May 13, 1874, and the First Annual Ball of the Associated Brotherhood of Iron and Steel Heaters of Indianapolis held at the Masonic Hall May 22, 1874. Also included are photocopies of an invitation to a ball given by the Hatters’ Association at the Washington Hall on April 13, 1874, an invitation to the Grand Anniversary of the Crystal Club at Bradshaw’s Music Parlors on October 6, 1875, and an invitation to the unveiling of the Oliver P. Morton statue on January 15, 1884 that was sent to members of the George H. Chapman Post, No. 209, G.A.R. One additional item in the collection is a photocopy of a February 25, 1924 receipt from William E. Krieger, a funeral director in Indianapolis, regarding funeral expenses for an unknown person.

Biographical Note
Francis Joseph Sevenish was born February 12, 1926 in Marion, Grant County, Indiana to Peter and Mary Jane (Donahue) Sevenish and grew up in Indianapolis. He served in World War II, enlisting in the U.S. Army in April 1944 and receiving his discharge in May 1946. Sevenish married Beverly Holmes on April 26, 1947 and they had four children. He was a jeweler and diamond setter and worked for Reis and Co. and L. S. Ayres and Co. Sevenish died at the age of 47 on April 4, 1973.
