This collection includes papers from the Lebanon Presbyterian Academy, including poetry, letters, philosophical notes, and two draft editorials for the school's publication, "The Calliopean Bachelor". The papers do not include author's names. The date 1868 is included on several papers, but most include no date. Student and professor names are included in a mock will.

Historical Note

Lillian Ellen Witt published the "History of the Lebanon Presbyterian Academy" in 1944. The Lebanon Presbytarian Academy was organized in 1861. In 1862, 180 students were enrolled, 100 male, 80 female.
