This collection includes newsletters of the Pokagon Chieftain (September 29, 1934-July 1, 1935, and July 26, 1992), Pokagon Papoose (July 15-December 20, 1935), and the Hoosier Dunesman (June 22-July 18, 1934). The issues were all published by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC).

Historical Note
The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was a public work relief program for unemployed, unmarried men from relief families as part of the New Deal (1933-1942). The Civilian Conservation Corps Company 556 based at Pokagon State Park published a camp newspaper, The Pokagon Chieftain, Pokagon Papoose, and Hoosier Dunesman in the 1930s.
