Scope and Contents
This collection includes a print of a pen and ink drawing of Chief Francis LaFontaine's house located in Huntington County, Indiana. The undated sketch was drawn from a photograph and includes a circa 1915 typewritten paragraph attached to the back of the print that gives a brief description of the home and information about LaFontaine's daughter, Archangel Engelmann. The collection also includes an envelope sent to the Indiana State Library from Mary Rankin at the Methodist Memorial Home located in the town of Warren, Indiana. The envelope has an aerial image of the home printed on the flap side of the envelope and is postmarked June 16, 1965.

Historical Note
Huntington County, Indiana was established in 1834 and was named for the president of the Continental Congress, Samuel Huntington. The city of Huntington serves as the county seat and the county also includes the small towns of Andrews, Markle, Mt. Etna, Roanoke and Warren.
