Historical Note

The Star Society was a literary club started in Kokomo, Indiana in 1875. Membership was open to "all persons of a good moral standing over the age of 9 years." The society's meetings included readings, essays, soliloquies, and debates. Several members of the Ingels family were early and active members of the society.
