Biographical Note
Sarah Ann Foster was born in Kentucky in 1824, the daughter of Henry and Jane (Nelson) Foster. The family later moved to Putnam County, Indiana. She married Wesley Bullard in 1843 and they had eight sons. She lived with her family in Mechanicsburg, Sangamon County, Illinois until her death in 1861. Her sister Rebecca Jane (1826-1907) married Dr. Alexander Campbell Stevenson in 1849 and was the mother of ten children.
