Biographical Note

Clyde Reynold Protsman was born to Elmer Ellsworth and Vesta Jane (Clevenger) Protsman near Vevay, Indiana on January 10, 1896. He was the younger of two children. Protsman married Hulda Elizabeth Horst in 1949, then they moved to Black Mountain, North Carolina in 1952.

He was a poet, who won numerous awards and published at least six books of poetry. Protsman died July 28, 1978 and was buried in the Vevay Cemetery in Vevay, Indiana.
