This collection includes the land patent issued to John G. Fisher on October 2, 1834 for 80 acres located in the Township 18 North, Range 7 East in Fall Creek Township, Madison County, Indiana. The certificate (No. 13873) was issued at the land office located at Indianapolis, Indiana and signed for President Andrew Jackson by his secretary A. J. Donelson and by Elijah Hayward, Commissioner of the General Land Office.

Historical Note
On November 10, 1823, Madison County, Indiana was formally organized. Fall Creek Township, located in the south central part of the county, is where the first pioneers settled. On October 2, 1834, David Fisher, John G. Fisher and William Fisher each received land patents for property located in northern part of section 34 in Fall Creek Township.
