This collection contains the record book of the Indianapolis Centennial Committee kept by the committee's secretary, Julia Belle Tutwiler. The volume contains the handwritten meeting minutes of the committee from November 17, 1919 to May 5, 1920 and lists of members who served on various subcommittees.

Historical Note
The Indianapolis Centennial Committee was organized in November 1919 and John H. Holliday of the Indiana Historical Society was elected permanent chairman and Julia Belle Tutewiler, a member of the city school board, was elected secretary. Centennial activities occurred from June 5 to June 9, 1920, and June 7 was chosen as the official “Centennial Day.”
