C.L. Goodwin letter

 Collection — Folder: S2176
Identifier: S2176

Scope and Contents

This collection includes a November 10, 1913 letter written by C.L. (Clarence LaRue) Goodwin on Indiana Veneer and Lumber Company letterhead and sent to "Prof. Brown." The letter consists of two handwritten sentences, Goodwin's signature, and an attached clipping of "How Simon Cameron Tossed Aside a Paper Signed by 'A. Lincoln," a November 6, 1913 article written by E.J. Edwards and printed in the Pittsburgh Gazette Times. Goodwin mentions in his note an offer from Brown regarding the Indiana State Library, so it can be assumed that the letter was sent to Demarchus C. Brown, the Indiana State Librarian in 1913 and former professor at Butler University.
