Historical Note
The Hankins schoolhouse was located in Harrison Township, Fayette County, Indiana, about four miles north of Connersville on the Milton Pike road. It is unclear when the school was opened, but a literary and debating society was organized at the school in November 1880. In June 1884, a meeting was scheduled to organize a Sunday school to be held at the school and by 1899, the Hankins Union Sunday school was attended by a number of the township youth. The schoolhouse was sold at public auction by the Harrison Township trustee in 1909.
