This collection includes correspondence, lists of World's Fair furniture taken by various individuals and organizations, and an itemized statement from individuals connected to Indiana's involvement with the 1893 World's Fair in Indianapolis, Indiana and Chicago, Illinois ranging from 1893 to 1894 regarding Indiana State Day, various pieces of furniture, and reimbursement for representing the State at the World's Fair.

There is also a proclamation for the World's Columbian Exposition circa 1893-1894 (B027).

Historical Note

The World's Columbian Exposition was held in Chicago, Illinois in 1893 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the arrival of Christopher Columbus in the Americas in 1492. All of the nation's states and territories exhibited at the fair, including Indiana which had a State Building and a State Day.
