Historical Note

Taverns are an establishment where beverages containing alcohol are sold to be consumed on the premises. Their history goes back to ancient Babylonia and continues to this day. They were used not only as a place to get food and drink, but as areas to socialize and as locations for travelers to stop while on their journey. To this day they still play an active role in the community and are frequently the hub of community social activity.
