Historical Note

This collection includes various funeral announcements from 1843-1936 of persons burried in Indiana, including General Hyacinthe Lasselle, the first white man born at the Ke-ki-ong-a, and Hon. Oliver H. Smith, a United States Representative and Senator from Indiana. Also included is an account of the funeral service of Minnie A. Trueblood in 1899, a respectable woman of Kokomo, which shows the respect shown to a female of the time as well as how services were conducted.
