Biographical Note

Samuel Fenwick Porter was born April 26, 1858. He married Kate Cole on April 9, 1884, with whom he had three children, two of whom died before reaching adulthood. Their sole surviving child was Cole Porter, the famous musician. Samuel Fenwick Porter maintained a drugstore, which sold Lazell's Perfumes, among other products, in Peru, Indiana until his death, August 18, 1927. He was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru, Indiana.
