Biographical Note
Doras [Dorus] J. Baker was born in Indiana during 1846. He married Jennie A. Webb in Marion County, Indiana on June 1, 1876. They had three children, one of whom was widowed by the age of 22. He operated a cash grocery, D.J. Baker's Cash Grocery, in Marion County, circa 1891. He died in 1918 and is buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
