Biographical Note

Andrew R. McCurdy was born November 2, 1835 in Richland County, Ohio. In 1843, he moved to Allen County, Indiana in a covered wagon. McCurdy joined the Union army during the U.S. Civil War, serving as a musician of Company F, 12th Indiana Regiment. He married Mary J. Line on October 25, 1863. McCurdy died at age 71 in Fort Wayne, Indiana on June 18, 1907.
