Biographical / Historical
Abraham "Abram" B. Hopper was born on December 24, 1844 in Mount Hetty, Ohio to Garrett and Anna (Wood) Hopper. He served in Company G, 39th Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the U.S. Civil War. Hopper moved to Henry County, Indiana in 1865 and there met and married Arbenia R. Dipboye. The Hoppers had four children and lived in Middletown for a number of years before moving to Anderson, Indiana. A brick mason by trade, Hopper died of heart disease on December 23, 1892.
