Biographical Note

Matthew Dickerson was born August 31, 1901 in Indianapolis to James and Ibbie (Cottee) Dickerson. His mother died when he was seven years old. He became a well-known dance promoter and operated a sound-truck advertising business. He also served as an Indianapolis auxiliary police officer. He passed away at the age of 68 on March 31, 1970.
