Historical Note

The Van Sickle Radio Supply Company was located in Indianapolis, Indiana and was incorporated in 1936 by Irwin Eugene "Gene" Van Sickle and Thornton Graham for the purpose of manufacturing and selling radios, phonographs, and refrigerating devices. The company installed sound systems at a number of Indiana's large venues, including the Indiana State Fair Coliseum, the Music Hall at Purdue University, and at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Originally located at 34 Ohio Street, the company moved to a bigger facility at 102 S. Pennsylvania Street in May 1949. In May 1950, Graham purchased Van Sickle's partnership interest and then began operating under the corporate name Graham Electronics Supply, Inc. in January 1952. Gene Van Sickle opened a new Van Sickle Radio Supply Company at 4131 N. Keystone in November 1957, with the slogan, "Everything in Electronics." Mr. Van Sickle retired in 1976 and his business was taken over by the Koss family.
