Biographical Note
James Allen Rogers was born on January 27, 1848 to Samuel and Malinda Rogers, in Jennings County,
Indiana. He enlisted in Company C, 101st regiment on August 15, 1862 and served until May 25, 1865.
He married Avilda M. Earl on June 8, 1865 and they moved to Hamilton County, Indiana. They had seven
children and were married for sixty-three years. They moved to Hortonville, Indiana where he died on
February 1, 1924.
