Biographical Note

Paul Merrill Riddick was born to Isaac and Martha Riddick on December 12, 1888 in Menominee, Michigan. He graduated with a BA in 1910 from DePauw University, where he co-founded the Society of Professional Journalists-Sigma Delta Chi (SPJ-SDX) organization in 1909. He married Lois Lucile Dilley on June 15, 1912 and they had one child, Marianna. He published the Democratic LaGrange (Indiana) News (1929) and the Republican LaGrange Standard (1928) newspapers. He was inducted into the Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame in 1974 and was a past president of the Indiana Republican Editorial Association. "Riddick, Paul Merrill". 1900 United States Federal Census.
