Biographical Note
Fitz John Porter was born somewhere between 1822 and 1828 in New Hampshire. He married Harriet and
they had three children. He served in the Civil War as a general and was court-martialed. He died on May
20 or 21, 1901 and is buried in Brooklyn, New York.
