Biographical Note

Frances Katheryn Crabb was born on November 11, 1912 in Warren County, Indiana to Edmond and Ethel (Palmer) Crabb. She was a 1930 graduate of Fowler High School in Benton County and she married Everett M. Goris on February 17, 1943. The Goris' lived on a farm near Dayton in Tippecanoe County for 40 years before moving to Lafayette in 1984. The couple adopted four children, a brother and sister aged eight and five, and then later a brother and sister, aged seven and five. Written under the pseudonym Frances Palmer, Mrs. Goris wrote the 1959 book And Four to Grown On, a personal account of their adoption experience. She also owned and operated a beauty shop an later worked for the personnel department at Purdue University. She passed away at the age of 74 on November 28, 1986.
