Scope and Contents
This collection has been divided into three folders. Folder one has information about Diapason Singers who performed at the Main Street Christian Church, Rushville, Indiana, on May 9, 1909. The Diapason class sang on the 100th anniversary of the Missouri Harmony Singers in Morrison. There is a three page typed narrative about the history of "how the Southerners came by their 'fasola' mode of singing."
Folder two, labeled Miscellaneous, has brochures, song sheets, and the 1941 annual convention booklet of the Indiana Federation of Music Clubs. One folder dated September 1924 is entitled: "Riley songs" and others, by Frederic Krull. A booklet entitled "The New Melody Way to Play The Piano" has sheet music for Jingle Bells, Old Black Joe, and Marching Men.
Folder three contains publications of J. Fischer and Brothers, New York, including catalogs, news booklets, and advertisements. Among this collection are Stephen Foster Songs, "A Distinquished Composer, Edward Margetson," and a program for "Mabel Daniels, Deep Forest Prelude for Little Symphony Orchestra."
