Scope and Contents
This collection consists of one paper handwritten in ink on both sides giving two election results among British soldiers. In the election held at Brookville, Franklin County, the following officers were chosen to command the Light Infantry Company attached to the 7th Regiment and Militia: David Oliver, Captain; Bethuel F. Morris, Lieutenant; Henry A. Reed, Ensign. In the Dearborn County election, the men elected a lieutenant in the 3rd Regiment and Militia to replace Erasmus Powell, who was promoted. The new lieutenant was George Walson. The date of the election returns statement is August 22, 1816.

Historical Note
This statement of election returns pertains to the election of officers in the Light Infantry, 7th Regiment and Militia, on August 30, 1816. Two elections are reported, one held in Brookville in Franklin County, and one held in Dearborn County. The Light Infantry of the 7th Regiment and Militia were British soldiers.
