Medicine collection

 Collection — Folder: S1623
Identifier: S1623

Scope and Contents

This collection includes four items. Jennie Catherine Hentzinger, Route 1, Pendleton, Indiana, typed a five-page summary of old time folk cures, especially mentioning remedies of her grandmother, Catharine Ann Brenneman-Mitschelen. Wm. B. Burford printed the form of a physician's contract between a doctor and a county, regarding his pledge to provide medical services to the paupers of a certain township. The Indiana Association of the History of Medicine has two pages about their method of gathering information to include in the annals of Indiana medical history, about their meetings, and about membership. Dr. Claude S. Black, president of the Indiana State Medical Association, wrote a letter to his fellow physicians in 1950 to tell them about "our Blue Shield Plan," which was organized in 1946.
