Administrative History

The Philomathean Society of the Blue River Academy in Salem, Indiana held their first meeting on January 5, 1865. When the club began, the president was Charles Trueblood, and the secretary was Milea Trueblood. The society provided its members with a forum to read their literary compositions and discuss their shared interest in literature and writing.
