Historical Note
The Indianapolis Draft Project was located at 222 East 16th Street in Indianapolis, Indiana and was part of the peace movement during the Vietnam War. It offered draft counseling service, with counseling centers in multiple college communities, and education concerning inequality in the war and the draft through "leafleting," demonstrations and the media. Their efforts caught the attention of Staughton Lynd and David Dellinger, two prominent American pacifists and social justice activists, as well as the local police. The organization also provided aid to young men resisting the draft or filing for conscientious objector status.
