Biographical Note/Historical Note/Administrative History
The Young People's Reading Circle offered certificates to Indiana students who completed the course of reading prescibed by the Board of Directors. In 1915, the manager was J. H. Stahl, located at 615 Lemcke Building, Indianapolis. Mr. Stahl itemized expenses for sending out books to the schools. He listed the paid publishers and the number of books sold by title. The Board of Directors of the Teachers and Young People's Reading Circle kept minutes of their meetings and recorded net profits from 1911 through 1915.
