This collection includes a four-page letter written by Jack O'Grady, president of the Indiana State Legislator's Club, and sent to Miss Margaret Turk, a cataloger at the Indiana State Library. Hsitorical note

John James "Jack" O'Grady (1889-1971) was a musician and band leader prior to entering politics in 1936. He served Vigo and Sullivan counties in the Indiana General Assembly from 1937 to 1955, first as a representative and then as a senator. In January 1937, he helped found the Indiana State Legislator's Club, a non-political organization with the motto "Good Fellowhsiop Amongst Our Membership" and open to past and present Indiana legislators. Mr. O'Grady was elected the club's first president and served this office for 13 consecutive years.
