This collection includes minutes from two executive board meetings of the Boy Scouts of America Tri-Valley Council in South Bend, Indiana on August 23 and September 27, 1966 and two copies of the 1966-1967 mofficers and exective board directory regarding the activities of the council, its distrcits, and its leadership.

Administrative History
One of the largest youth organizations in the United States, he Boy Scouts of America was established in 1910 and has over 2.4 million members an dalmost a million adult volunteers as of 2014. The goals of the organization include teaching boys and young men and women to become responsible, confident, self-reliant citizens through outdoor activities, educational programs, and community-based, career-oriented programs.
Founded in 1952, the Tri-Valley Council 165 of the Boy Scouts of America was located in South Bend, Indiana. In 1972, Tri-Valley Council 165 merged with two other councils, Pioneer Trails 155 in Elkhart, Indiana and Pottawattomie 731, to form Northern Indiana Council 165. The following year in 1973, Northern Indiana Council 165 merged with Southern Michigan 270, Sawasbee District, to form the current iteration, LaSalle Council 165, a part of White Beaver Chapter of Sakima Lodge.
