Biographical Note/Historical Note/Administrative History

No manufacturer is identified for this tonic; it is only known that it was available "for sale by druggists and the trade generally." Tippecanoe Tonic was a spring preparation available for the price of $1.00 for each bottle, eliminated the need for nostrums and bitters. The tonic, as agreeable to the taste as wine, was effective against "dyspepsia, general debility, tired feelings, malaria, blood disorders, skin eruptions, loss of energy, female complaints, feeble appetites, bilious headache..."
