Biographical Note

Hazel L. Workman was born to Mr. William Wallace and Mrs. Hallie Kyte Harness in 1891 in Indiana. She married Grover William Workman and lived with her husband and mother in Indianapolis, Indiana. On 1965/01/12, Hazel Workman donated a collection of receipts, land documents, and personal documents of James L. Kyte. James Kyte lived with his wife Margaret Jane Hamm, and three children, Amanda Belle, Hally, and Novela P. Kyte in Hendricks County, Indiana from the 1850s to his death. James Kyte worked as a keeper of boarding houses, and some of his documents were transferred to Hazel Workman, a relative through her mother, Hallie Kyte Harness.
