Administrative History

The Gettysburg Address Reenactment was performed at the Indiana State Capitol in Indianapolis, Indiana on November 19, 1980. Members of the Indianapolis Civil War Round Table and the New Birth of Freedom Society, formed in 1980, sponsored the reenactment. Elbert L. Watson was the General Chairman of the reenactment committee of eleven people. John "Scotty" Selch portrayed Maryland Governor Augustus Bradford in the performance.

The Indianapolis Civil War Round Table, an organization of amateur and professional historians from Central Indiana with an interest in the American Civil War. was founded by Alan Nolan, Harry Grube and Rudolf Haerle in 1955.
