Scope and Contents

These letters, all written by J. Scott Williams, are about the new Indiana State Library and Historical Building under construction. He wrote to Edward D. Pierre of Pierre and Wright, 909 Architects and Builders Building, Indianapolis, in 1932 (3 letters); to Willard Osler of the same company in 1933 (3 letters); to Edward D. Pierre in 1933 (2 letters), and to Miss Esther McNitt, Indiana State Library, in 1934 (1 letter). There is a 12-page typed document on onion-skin paper entitled "Glass, Concerning the Five Windows in the Indiana State Library and Historical Building," and a 10-page typed document entitled "Glass and Mural Panels for Indiana State Library and Historical Building." An undated two pages are entitled "Printers' Marks."

Biographical Note

J. Scott Williams had his office at 8 West 13th Street, New York City, in 1932, 1933, and 1934, when he wrote these letters. He was hired to provide murals for the new Indiana State Library building.
