Biographical / Historical

John H. Wigley was born on December 19, 1847 in Vermillion County, Indiana to Joseph and Orpha Wigley. He married twice, first to Rebecca Huff (1850-1877) in 1869 and then to Mary Anna Devins (1858-1911) in 1879, and was the father of five children. He worked various jobs, including as foreman for the Hoosier State newspaper (Newport, Ind.) and as a carpenter in Terre Haute. He passed away at the age of 83 on September 17, 1931.
