Scope and Contents
There are three items in this collection: (1) a small envelope addressed to Mr. Wm. J. Warner, 1218 E. Vermont Str., City; (2) a short note dated March 24, 1898, written by Mrs. John P. Frenzel, Jr. which says: "The pleasant duty has been assigned to me of waiting on you with a ticket to the Easter Ball, to be given by the ladies auxiliary of the Maennerchor. I beg to enclose a ticket. If entirely agreeable please remit $1.00 or oblige, Mrs. John P. Frenzel Jr., 620 N. East Str." and (3) the ticket to the Oster Ball, written in German. The date of the Easter Ball was April 11, 1898.

Biographical Note
There is currently no information available on William J. Warner, but Mrs. John P. Frenzel, Jr., who wrote this note to Mr. Warner, was well known in Indianapolis society at the time. Her husband, John P. Frenzel II (1853-1933) was president of Merchants National Bank, one of the founders of the Consumers Gas Trust Company, and served on the Board of the School Commissioners. John and his brother Otto Frenzel (1856-1925) were the sons of John P. Frenzel, the engineer who drove the first locomotive from Madison to Indianapolis.
