Scope and Contents

This collection includes newspaper clippings, postcards and a letter sent to Kate C. Ward in Portland, Oregon and Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Ward received a letter from "Jim" who wrote from Indiana University in Bloomington on July 11, 1861 during the U.S. Civil War. The postcards were from Clarinda B. Powell in 1910 and her nephew Jessie in 1913. The undated newspaper clippings are titled "Good Fishing Near Monticello, Ind."; "Bloomington's Old Brick Court House Burned by a Governor"; and "Miss Brockie to Return Home, Will Join Sister in Scotland to Live."
