Juliet V. Strauss letter

 Collection — Folder: S1264
Identifier: S1265

Scope and Contents

This double-sided paper is hand-written in black ink without any date. Because automobiles are mentioned, and knowing the author died in 1918, the date is estimated about 1915. Juliet wrote about American materialism, and how poor boys want cars which their fathers cannot afford. Juliet wrote: "This Christmas season presents a glowing opportunity for communities to rivel the smiles of their children to the best ideals of democracy by making the holidays glad municipal festivals -- glad in the sense of really mutual interests."
