Biographical Note

Reverend George William Stafford was born in Giles (now Mechanicsburg), Virginia, on September 24, Thomas and Ruth Stafford. On March 24, 1842, he married Rachael R. Stitt (1822-1899) in Montgomery County, Indiana and they had one son, WIlliam A. Stafford (1849-1917). He served as a Methodist minister in Montgomery County. Stafford died on Febuary 1, 1902 in Crawfordsville, Montgomery County, Indiana.
