Biographical Note

Reverend George William Stafford was born in Giles (now Mechanicsburg), Virginia, on September 24, 1815.to Thomas and Ruth Stafford. On March 24, 1842, he married Rachael R. Stitt (1822-1899) in Montgomery County, Indiana and they had one son, WIlliam A. Stafford (1849-1917). He served as a Methodist minister in Montgomery County. Stafford died on Febuary 1, 1902 in Crawfordsville, Montgomery County, Indiana.
