Scope and Contents

Four items are in this collection: (1) October 6, 1880 letter on letterhead for the Republican State Central Committee to O. A. Somers from J. A. Wildman, treasurer; (2) receipt for $17.00 dated October 27, 1880, received from O. A. Summers and signed J. A. Wildman, treasurer; (3) letter dated November 14, 1880 from J. A. Wildman to O. A. Somers, Kokomo, Indiana; and (4) letter on letterhead for St. James Hotel, Washington, D.C., dated June 5, 1882, to O. A. Somers from M. Garrigus. The letters concern politics. Mr. James Wildman asked Mr. Somers, in the November 14, 1880 letter: "How does Garrigus stand on the Senatorial question with all due respect to all the candidates." He also wrote that he thought "General [Benjamin] Harrison should be elected to the Senate."
